Jenna Dixon

Jenna’s process begins in the quiet spaces where effort, environment, and emotion intersect. She creates imagery in remote and often demanding landscapes because these places require presence. They slow time. They strip away distraction. They reveal how small we are within something vast, living, and constantly shifting.

Her work is rooted in the experience of moving through wild environments with intention where access is earned through patience, preparation, and respect. The camera becomes less a tool for documentation and more a witness to moments that cannot be rushed or controlled. Weather, light, and terrain shape each image as much as she does.

She is drawn to transitional spaces - in-between, both physical and emotional states that mirror the internal landscapes we all navigate. Uncertainty and curiosity. Fear and wonder. Fragility and strength existing simultaneously. Photography becomes a means of translating those emotional terrains into visual form.

Jenna explores the relationship between humans and wild places not as conquerors or distant observers, but as participants within a larger ecological and emotional system. Her work examines the tension between fragility and resilience - qualities that exist not only in the landscapes she photographs, but within ourselves.

Jenna is also a documentary filmmaker, committed to sharing human stories rooted in connection to the natural world.  With contributing Cinematography to (2024)  National Geographic's "For Winter" as well as cinematography and stills to "Embers" which made its world debut at the Banff International Mountain Book and Film Festival in 2025, Jenna is now working in a directing role with a strong focus in mountain sports, science and innovation, cultural narratives and conservation stories.

The Journey

Jenna’s work is born from an awareness of impermanence.

Years spent inside the medical field as a perioperative nurse shaped her understanding that time is fragile and that tomorrow is never guaranteed. That truth became both weight and catalyst, urging her toward a life lived deliberately.

Before photography, there was movement. As a former athlete, she learned discipline, endurance, and the intimacy of inhabiting the body. The mountains later became an extension of that language, spaces where effort meets vastness and stillness is earned. In these remote, often high-altitude regions, she discovered both confrontation and clarity.

Photography entered her life almost serendipitously, sparked by a curiosity to capture the night sky beneath the northern lights. Pressing the shutter felt less like capturing a moment and more like witnessing one, an attempt to hold what is by nature fleeting. Since then, her practice has evolved into a meditation on presence, exploring the forces that shape both the landscapes she moves through and the inner terrain we carry.

Her images are often created in cold, remote environments where physical exertion sharpens awareness. Altitude strips away distraction. Weather demands humility. In these conditions, she works not to conquer the landscape, but to stand within it and bring back what she has learned.

In 2021, Jenna entered Web3, drawn to its decentralization and the opportunity for artists to share their work directly. Through this space, she has shared stories and artworks rooted in wild terrain and human vulnerability, reaching an all-time high of 4.5 ETH.

Her work has been exhibited in Times Square, New York, and in galleries from New York to Miami, bridging the physical and digital realms while maintaining a singular focus on presence.

At its core, her work asks a quiet question.
What does it mean to truly be here, in this body, in this breath, in this fleeting moment?

Jenna currently resides in the Canadian Rockies, where she co-operates Silver Fern Productions, a full-service commercial photography and videography studio, with her partner. Their work has been featured nationally and internationally in publications such as Canadian Geographic, Travel + Leisure, National Geographic, and many more.

Through Silver Fern Productions, Jenna has produced storied campaigns for brands and tourism operators, including television commercials airing nationally on CTV. Her work showcases a variety of destinations and experiences, combining cinematic storytelling with a deep respect for place and the moments that make it unique.
